90 días para hacer el examen
ASE testing is available year-round. When you register for an ASE test, you will have 90 days from the original date of purchase to schedule an appointment and take your test at any of the nearly 500 Prometric test centers across the United States and Canada. You should schedule appointments for all tests as soon as possible. If you do not complete testing within 90 days, the untaken tests will expire, and you will forfeit your fees.

Scheduling a Test Center Appointment
The appointment date, time, and test center location are flexible to suit your schedule. If you purchased multiple tests, you may choose to combine them into a single appointment or schedule them across multiple appointments. Log in to myASE and click the Schedule Appointment button in the Scheduled Tests tab for 24/7 self-service scheduling or call 800-390-6789 for assistance by phone during normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Monday – Friday. Testing must be completed by the “Must Take Test By” date displayed in your myASE account to avoid the forfeiture of your tests and fees.
Llegar temprano
Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment start time to allow sufficient time to park, find the test center office, and for check-in. Late arrivals may be turned away by the test center staff. If a test cannot be taken because of arriving late, all fees are forfeited.
Periodo de espera de 30 días
Si realiza un examen ASE y recibe un resultado de "aprobado" o "suspenso", debe esperar 30 días completos antes de poder comprar y programar el mismo examen de nuevo.
Sales Tax
ASE is required to collect sales tax on applicable purchases, as determined by each state’s laws. If you are purchasing tests on behalf of a tax-exempt organization, submit your exemption certificate to finance@ase.combefore making a purchase. All tax-exempt transactions must be processed through a company account. Orders placed through personal accounts will not qualify for tax exemption.
Cambios en los nombramientos
Si desea cambiar la fecha u hora de la prueba, debe anular primero la cita existente antes de poder programar una nueva. No se permiten cambios en los 3 días anteriores a la cita programada.
To make changes, use the 24/7 self-service Cancel Appointment option in your myASE Scheduled Tests tab or call 800-390-6789 for assistance by phone during normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday – Friday.
Pruebas no realizadas
There is no refund or reschedule for a missed testing appointment. If you miss your appointment or arrive late, the test is scored as "No Show", and all fees are forfeited. You can register for that same test again, but you must pay the registration fee and test fee again. To repurchase a missed test, you must wait until the official “No Show” test result is posted to myASE.
Cancelación de pruebas
If you wish to cancel a test, you must first cancel any existing appointment for that test, then cancel the test itself. Use the self-service Cancel Test option in myASE, or call 800-390-6789 for assistance by phone during normal business hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday – Friday. If you are within 3 days of your testing appointment, you cannot cancel the appointment or test. You can only cancel tests for which you paid, and you will receive a refund.

To safeguard the test questions and ensure fairness for everyone, enhanced security procedures are used at the test center.
- You will be given a copy of all test center regulations when checking in. Please read this carefully.

If the container does not meet requirements, it must be kept in your assigned locker.

- You will be asked to pull up your pants legs and sleeves and turn your pockets inside-out.
- You will be screened with a hand-held metal detector.
- You will be asked to remove your eyeglasses for visual inspection.
- Wedding bands and engagement rings are also visually inspected.
- These screening processes are repeated every time you return from a break.
- The same security procedures apply to everyone taking tests at Prometric centers, regardless of the type of test - automotive, medical, business, or education.
- If you do not comply with the security procedures and instructions provided by the test center staff, testing will not be allowed, and all fees are forfeited.

Malas condiciones meteorológicas
In the event of severe weather or disaster, Prometric may need to cancel your appointment and will notify you via email. If severe weather is anticipated and you have concerns, call Prometric at 877-346-9327, or the local test center using the phone number provided on your Registration Ticket. If the test center is open, it is your responsibility to attend your scheduled appointment. If the test center is closed, you can reschedule your appointment to another day at no additional cost.
Technical Issues and Test Interruptions
Technical difficulties or other unexpected interruptions may occasionally occur at the test center. Efforts will be made to correct those issues as soon as possible. In most cases, you will be able to resume your test where you left off without any reduction in testing time. If you encounter a problem that prevents you from completing the test through no fault of your own, and it cannot be resolved within 30 minutes, you can reschedule your appointment to another day at no additional cost. If a test is rescheduled, you must take the entire test over again from the beginning. There are no refunds or any other compensation for any expenses or losses associated with any case where tests cannot be administered as scheduled. A rescheduled appointment is the only remedy available.
Accessibility Accommodations
ASE is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for test takers with documented disabilities. If you require accommodations, you must submit a request, along with supporting documentation, to be approved by ASE before you register and schedule an appointment. Information regarding the accommodations request process is available at www.ase.com or by contacting ASE directly.
Resultados de las pruebas e informe de resultados
Your detailed score report is emailed to you after you finish your appointment. Test results can be viewed and printed in myASE within 24 hours of taking the test in most cases.
If your employer or school paid for your test, they will be able to view the pass/fail/no-show test result, but not the specific test score. If you paid for the test yourself, only you can see the pass/fail/no-show test result, in addition to the specific test score. You can reprint a score report in your myASE account at any time.
ASE reserves the right to confirm whether you do or do not hold ASE certifications and in which specific areas. This verification will include only the tests you have passed, consistent with the same information provided on your ASE credentials. If you do not want ASE to share this information with anyone else, you can opt out by unchecking the box labeled “Release my ASE status to others” in your myASE account profile. If you choose to opt out, ASE will not disclose your certification status to your employer, OEM, or other organizations or individuals.
Notice to Organizations Using the ASE Tests
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has developed these certification tests expressly for use in the context of voluntary certification of vehicle service professionals, and all future revisions and refinements will be made in that context. ASE expressly disclaims any responsibility for the actions of organizations or entities which decide to use ASE tests in any context other than ASE's voluntary certification of vehicle service professionals.
Notice to Individuals Taking the ASE Tests
The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) reserves the right to cancel any test score, bar participation in ASE programs, or revoke certification if ASE has any reason to question the validity of a test score, suspect misconduct, suspect an individual of creating or presenting fraudulent ASE certificates, score reports or other credentials, or suspect the reporting of fraudulent registration information. ASE may also restrict future participation in ASE programs for conduct deemed inappropriate, unacceptable, threatening, or violent during interactions with ASE staff or testing partners.
